Site surveys

Measure the building, not the drawing

A survey turns assumptions into dimensions. We field-measure every surface, record what it is actually made of, photograph it and document how a crew gets in.

Why it matters

Most install failures are survey failures

Graphics printed to a drawing dimension arrive short. Film specified without checking the glass build cracks a pane. A crew shows up to a mall unit and finds out installs are only allowed between 10pm and 6am. All of that is preventable, and all of it is cheaper to catch during a survey.

Our survey deliverable is a document you can hand to a print producer or a project manager: dimensions, substrate, photos, access and a list of anything that will not build as drawn.

  • Field measuredEvery dimension taken on site, never lifted from a drawing.
  • Substrate checkedWall texture, glass type and coatings recorded before specifying.
  • PhotographedStraight-on shots for artwork plus context shots for the crew.
  • Access documentedLifts, loading routes, check-in, escorts and permitted hours.

Survey types

Four ways we survey

Scope depends on what is being installed and how many addresses are involved.

Storefront glazing being measured for window graphics

Retail and storefront survey

For decor packages, window graphics and storefront branding in a trading store.

  • Glass and mullion dimensions with reveal allowances
  • Interior wall texture and paint condition
  • Fixture positions that affect graphic placement
  • Mall or landlord install-hour restrictions
Interior office wall and door measured for architectural film

Office and interior survey

For branding walls, privacy banding, wayfinding and architectural finish scopes.

  • Wall, door, column and casework dimensions
  • Substrate suitability for self-adhesive film
  • Elevator cab and door details where finishes are in scope
  • Occupied-floor working hours and noise limits
Glazing being inspected and recorded during a window film survey

Glazing and film survey

For window film retrofits, where the wrong specification can break glass.

  • Glass type, thickness and tint recorded per opening
  • Sealed unit, laminated or annealed construction identified
  • Thermal stress and film-to-glass compatibility assessment
  • Frame and glazing bead condition for anchoring options
Rollout survey documentation covering multiple store locations

Multi-site rollout survey

For programs where every address has to be captured the same way.

  • One standard survey template per location
  • Location matrix with survey, artwork and install status
  • Variance report where a site differs from the prototype
  • Sequenced install calendar by region

What is included

In every survey pack

The same core record, whatever the scope.

  • Verified dimensions

Width, height and reveal for each surface, measured on site.

  • Substrate assessment

What the surface is, how it is finished and whether film will hold.

  • Photo documentation

Straight-on and context photographs, named to match each opening.

  • Environmental notes

Sun exposure, heat load and conditions that affect material choice.

  • Access details

Entry points, lifts, loading, security check-in and permitted hours.

  • Exception log

Everything that will not build as drawn, listed before production.

Deliverables

What you get back

A survey pack you can act on: measured schedules for production, photographs for artwork setup, and the practical notes a crew needs to be productive on day one.

  • Measured schedule per opening or surface
  • Photo set keyed to the schedule
  • Substrate and glazing notes with specification advice
  • Access and scheduling summary
  • Exception log with recommended resolutions

Process

How a survey runs

Usually a half day per site, less for a single storefront.

  1. Brief

You send drawings, artwork intent or a site list and access contacts.

  2. Attend

We book with the site contact and attend inside permitted hours.

  3. Record

Measure, assess the substrate, photograph and note access.

  4. Report

You receive the survey pack, including anything that needs a decision.

Tell us what needs installing

Send drawings, a site list or a photo. We will tell you what the install takes, what we need to survey and when our crews can be on site.
